Finnish NHL star Sebastian Aho28, went viral in an instant at the beginning of the year, when his expression in the middle of the match made even the opponent burst into laughter.
Aho representing Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning Brandon Hagel27, exchanged words between the substitutes’ benches, and Aho responded to the situation in a way that went down in history – with one look.
Hagel couldn’t hold back his laughter and the situation quickly spread around social media.
Now the NHL has decided to take advantage of the viral phenomenon and published a video on the league’s social media channels, in which several players try to imitate Aho’s legendary look.
They are included in the video Filip Chytil, Philip Broberg, Filip Gustavsson, JJ Moser, Mikael Backlund, JJ Peterka and Finnish players Niko Mikkola, Urho Vaakanainen, Anton Lundell, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and of course Aho himself.
The players laugh at the situation at first and some of them try to look serious, while others politely refuse.
– I don’t know how to do that, Luukkonen laughed for the camera.
When it was Aho’s turn, however, the Hurricanes star did not agree to relive the situation once more.
– I don’t want to do that! I’ve seen it enough times already, Aho laughed.
The video quickly became a hit on the NHL’s various social media channels and has collected thousands of likes and hundreds of comments.
The public thought the Finns performed the best, especially Vaakanainen received praise for her accurate imitation.
– Vaakanainen did it best. You have to twist your eyes a little, otherwise it won’t work, said one commenter in English.
