The Seattle Kraken meet in the first round of NHL-Playoffs on defending champions Colorado Avalanches.
The Colorado Avalanche ice hockey team won the last main round game on Friday (04/14/2023/local time) against the Nashville Predators with 4:3 and thus made first place in the Central division of the North American Ice Hockey League and the first-round duel with the Seattle Kraken.
National goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer had been in goal for the Avalanche for three years and had matured into one of the best goalkeepers in the league during this time. The best-of-seven series begins Wednesday night in Denver.
Two Germans in the playoffs
The first round between the two starts the day before Edmonton Oilers around Leon Draisaitl and the Los Angeles Kings. Draisaitl and Grubauer are the only two German ice hockey pros who made it into the NHL playoffs with their teams this season.
On the way to the final series at the Stanley Cup the two teams could meet.
