For the Dallas Cowboys, the NFL season is over after week 18, that much has been clear since the last day of the game. Reason enough for America’s Team to retire another superstar in CeeDee Lamb for the last two games.

The wide receiver has been suffering from an injury to the AC joint in his shoulder since the beginning of November, which he sustained in the game against the Atlanta Falcons. Since then, Lamb has struggled because the Cowboys still had a small chance of making the playoffs.

Because this no longer exists, it was decided to no longer use Lamb. The Cowboys’ last two games are against the Eagles and the Commanders.

After Dak Prescott (thigh), Zack Martin (ankle), DeMarcus Lawrence (foot) and Trevon Diggs (knee), Lamb is already the fifth top performer who has to miss the rest of the season. So far this season, Lamb has amassed 101 catches for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns.

NFL: Teammate excited about Lamb

With numbers like these, Lamb impressed not only this season. In his first five years with the Cowboys, the 25-year-old became one of the best receivers in the NFL; only Michael Thomas had more receptions in his first five years than Lamb with a total of 496. And that despite Lamb repeatedly returning to the injury-hit Dak Prescott had to miss out.

Defense star Micah Parsons has nothing but praise for his teammate: “He’s QB-safe. I saw him reach 1,000 with Andy Dalton [Yards] has achieved. I saw him reach 1,000 yards with Dak Prescott. I saw him get 1,000 yards rushing with Cooper,” the pass rusher said.

“You give all these other wide receivers grace and say, ‘Oh, they’re no good because they don’t have a quarterback,’ but CeeDee shows time and time again that he can take on anyone who throws him the ball. He finds a way “To get the ball. He’s a dude when it comes to fighting through it, man, I don’t think he’s the best,” Parsons continued.
