NFL: Cowboys narrowly win against Chargers

As of: October 17, 2023 7:47 a.m

The Dallas Cowboys won a competitive NFL game against the Los Angeles Chargers and secured their important fourth win of the season. At 20:17 on Monday evening (local time), the Cowboys had to tremble until a bad pass from Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert with 89 seconds left.

The guests were then able to let the clock run down and celebrate the success, which significantly increased their chances of making the playoffs. Herbert had previously been knocked down in the attack and immediately afterwards made the momentous decision to make a risky pass.

Chargers face a tough game for the playoffs

«The boys fought. We knew that this was a really strong team. The boys worked their butts off in defense and attack. We’re moving forward, that was great before the break,” said Cowboys playmaker Dak Prescott on ESPN. Dallas has no games next weekend. “It sounds like we can enjoy this week, get healthy and then collect more wins.”

With the win, the team is now just one win behind the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East. They surprisingly suffered their first defeat of the season at the New York Jets on Sunday (14:20).

The Chargers, on the other hand, with three defeats in five games, are once again on a path that will make the playoffs a tremor – and next up is against the in-form Kansas City Chiefs for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Harris released from hospital

NFL professional Damien Harris from the Buffalo Bills is apparently on the mend after his collision in the game against the New York Giants. “Damien Harris has been released from the hospital and is resting at home,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said on Monday. “He is in the concussion protocol and has a neck sprain, but he appears to be in good spirits today.”

Running back Harris was left lying on the field after a collision with a defender during the win against New York (14:9) on Sunday evening and was treated there for minutes. He was then transferred to an ambulance on a stretcher.

The frightening scenes were reminiscent of Buffalo teammate Damar Hamlin, who suffered a cardiac arrest on the field earlier this year. He has been taking part in active gaming operations again for a good two weeks.
