Next new signing for Arminia Bielefeld: Gerrit Gohlke comes from Waldhof Mannheim

After big

After Maximilian Großer, Arminia Bielefeld has announced the second transfer within a few hours. Gerrit Gohlke, who comes on a free transfer from Waldhof Mannheim, also joins the East Westphalia team. As with Großer, the relegated second division did not announce a contract term. The 24-year-old central defender Gohlke moved to Mannheim in January 2020 and played a total of 66 games. In the past season, however, knee and shoulder injuries slowed down the native of Darmstadt.

“Arminia tried to get me early on. I want to use my physical, athletic strengths to help our new team. I’m extremely happy to be part of the team,” said Gohlke. Sports director Michael Mutzel added: “Gerrit has great physical abilities to make life difficult for opposing defenders. The exchange with him was positive. I’m glad he’s on board.”
