Next DEL bankruptcy for champions Berlin

For the German ice hockey champions Eisbären Berlin, the air in the relegation battle of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) is slowly getting thinner after another defeat.

The Eisbären lost to the Straubing Tigers 1:2 (0:0, 1:1, 0:1), but the competition in the table basement scored at least partially.

Table leaders Red Bull Munich initially extended their clear lead over pursuers Adler Mannheim. With a 4-1 (1-0, 2-1, 1-0) win over the Nuremberg Ice Tigers, Bayern won their eighth league win in a row. In the duel between Mannheim’s pursuers, ERC Ingolstadt beat Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven 3-0 (0-0, 1-0, 2-0) and advanced to third place.

Schwenningen beat the Augsburg Panthers, who were in the penultimate place in the table, 1-0 (0-0, 0-0, 0-0, 1-0) after extra time and thus increased the lead over the Eisbären, Augsburg still got a point. Tylor Spink made the decision in overtime after 50 seconds. Tail light Bietigheim Steelers lost 1: 3 (0: 2, 1: 0, 0: 1) at the Grizzlys Wolfsburg and remains a distant last.

Travis St. Denis (23rd) gave Straubing the lead with the polar bears, a little later Kevin Clark (28th) equalized. In the final section it was Parker Tuomie (45th) who made the decision.
