★★★1/ 2 Ah, how terrible is the world of pop, so low, so full of tricks and various vices, so hypocritical. Anyway, those are our prejudices and, although Leonard Bernstein has made Love without barriers, they will continue. It is a good field, then, to disarm others. The tale that I Want To Dance With Someone tells is simple: Whitney Houston, someone brilliant and charismatic, rises to the top with her talents and then falls, to her death, because of her vices. One could choose moments, songs from this film where Naomie Ackie makes us believe we are in a constant Whitney recital. Example: the American anthem, that of the Bodyguard, anyone. Behind there is a story where rising and falling and losing for love is spun in an archetypal way. Fortunately, the film does not lack humor or defense of the (uselessness) of art, small or large. Whitney Houston deserved an Oscar.
