The grandpa of Philip Goudsmid, together with a friend, provides a number of horses on different meadows along the road. Grandpa Goudsmid herself is too emotional to tell about the situation, according to his grandson. “He is afraid that he will say things that he shouldn’t say.”
Now that the foal has been gone for more than 24 hours, the family’s worries are growing. “The foal really has to go back, also for the foal itself,” says grandson Goudsmid. “She won’t make it without a mother.”

They know for sure that the foal was stolen and have reported the police. Whether the question may have run away, Philip shakes his head. “The horse can’t get out of it”, pointing to the fencing. “It was so small that you could even take it on your lap in the car.”
It happened in a short period of time, because Grandpa Goudsmid was several times at the foal on Tuesday morning. He was gone between 10 a.m. and 12 a.m. and when he returned, Joëna had disappeared.
The family shared a message on Facebook and there the reactions come in, but people also come to express their support at the horse’s house. “Everyone comes by and says” how bad, how bad “, says grandson Philip. “But that doesn’t help us that much.” He especially hopes that the person who has taken the foal comes with sentences. “Let’s hope someone changes his mind and that they will bring the horse back.”
