New Year’s Eve in North Holland: festive but also grim atmosphere and fireworks display

New Year’s Eve was festive in most places in North Holland, but that was not the case everywhere. In Haarlem a 19-year-old man died after an accident involving fireworks and in Amsterdam young people clashed with the police and the Mobile Unit (ME) had to intervene. The riot police also took action in Zaandam and Huizen.
