Residents of the municipality of Coevorden who live close to the Hulteweg, Europark and Weijerswold Windparken can apply for a subsidy from October. The subsidy applies to local residents who live within 1 km from Windpark Hulteweg, within 1 km from Windpark Europark and within 1.5 km from Windpark Weijerswold.

Residents can use the money to better insulate their home or, for example, to purchase solar panels, a heat pump or solar water heater. Residents of the municipality can receive up to a maximum of 2500 euros in subsidy money.

The subsidy scheme for local residents of the wind farms was announced earlier this year and has been available from 1 July, but the municipality has now relaxed the conditions of the subsidy. For example, local residents can now also apply for a subsidy for measures implemented from 2020 and for a number of measures the subsidy amount has been increased from 1000 euros to 2500 euros. Solar panels are also part of the options from 1 October.

The relaxed version of the subsidy will start from 1 October. At that time, the old subsidy scheme will be canceled.
