New research reveals that paradise birds send secret color signals that are invisible to the human eye. The spring deck and body parts of the birds glow in certain areas when lightly viewed under blue and ultraviolet (UV). They then appear clear green or yellow green and these colors may be used in territorial conflicts or to find partners, scientists report.
