311th Bundesliga win
Munich (AP) – Soccer national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer set a Bundesliga record in FC Bayern Munich’s 4-0 win over Union Berlin.
For the 35-year-old it was the 311th victory in Germany’s top division. Coach Julian Nagelsmann spoke of a “fabulous record” for the Bayern captain – “and it’s not over yet”.
Neuer, who scored the first league wins of his career in goal at FC Schalke 04, surpassed Oliver Kahn. The former national goalkeeper and current CEO of the German record champions had celebrated 310 victories in his career in the Bundesliga. Now Neuer is the sole record winner.
