Following Veljkovic and Panzeri, Justice Minister Vincent Van Quickenborne (Open Vld) wants to get more criminals to talk by expanding the regret opt-out scheme. The current law is too restrictive, as a result of which files with regrets may not even appear before the court of assizes. “We are doing everything we can to further step up the fight against organized crime and terrorism,” promises Van Quickenborne.
