With “New Order T-Shirt”, The National have released the second song from their upcoming album FIRST TWO PAGES OF FRANKENSTEIN. It will be released on April 28th via 4AD. Already on January 18th came with “Tropic Morning News” the first harbinger of the band’s 9th studio album. The new release, which was released on Thursday (February 23rd), seems almost fragile at the beginning due to the soft acoustic guitar tones, before the song rises a bit with the bass and drums.

“To me, the line ‘I keep what I can of you’ means something about everyone I’ve ever known or loved. ‘New Order T-Shirt’ has a simplicity that reminds me of our earlier records – but with the maturity and experience of today. It feels like a really important song for the future of our band,” stated guitarist and pianist Aaron Dessner.

Together with New Order they will release a limited edition New Order t-shirt at the end of March, which like the record already can be pre-ordered. FIRST TWO PAGES OF FRANKENSTEIN will feature eleven tracks in total and feature guest appearances by Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers and Sufjan Stevens. From mid-May, The National will then go on a North American and European tour, playing a concert in Berlin on September 30th and in Munich on October 1st. The pre sales already running.
