After a long delay, the time has come: The clothing dealer E. Breuninger GmbH & Co., which is based in Stuttgart, opens its first branch in northern Germany on Tuesday.
The company chose the Westfield Hamburg-Übersekartier shopping center as the location for the now 13th branch. In the future, Breuninger will present its range on an area of a total of more 13,000 square meters, which extends over three floors. The store is headed by Henning Riecken, who had previously run the branches in Stuttgart and Nuremberg.
Breuninger had already announced the expansion step to the Hanseatic city in the summer of 2021. However, because the completion of the Westfield Hamburg-Übersekartier repeatedly delayed due to technical difficulties, the opening of the Breuninger flagship also had to be postponed accordingly.

Breuninger CEO Holger Blecker is now looking forward to the opening: “Online and inpatient trade are inextricably linked to each other. Inpatient trade is a key success factor of our Omnichannel strategy,” he said in a statement. “With our new flagship store in Westfield Hamburg-Übersekartier, we would like to offer our customers a special inpatient shopping experience-in addition to a curated range, personal contact is particularly important to us. It is our aim to be the perfect host for our customers.”
