A Nightmare On Elm Street

Just in time for Halloween, Netflix is adding several horror films to its program – including Wes Craven’s slasher classic “A Nightmare On Elm Street”. It tells the story of the murderous fire victim Freddy Krueger, a mass murderer who actually died long ago, who, thanks to a pact with the devil, is able to live on in the realm of dreams and hunt down unsuspecting children there with his iconic steel claw. In Germany, the bloody classic from 1984 was on the list of indexed films twice.
Nothing new in the West

Promising remake of one of the most important anti-war novels of the 20th century. The focus is on the so-called “lost generation” – those young men who exchanged classrooms and homes for battlefields and trenches at the beginning of the First World War and, if they survived, never fully found their way back into society. Director Edward Berger (“Deutschland 83”) is also delivering the first German film adaptation of the classic and is also allowed to enter it in the 2023 Oscars.
