The two architects presented the vision of the project to the clubs and the mayor: “An investment for the future of sport and for the city of Milan”

A historic first time: Norman Foster, the British architect in charge of designing the new stadium in Milan, together with David Manica (number one of the other studio involved) showed up in the city to meet the mayor Beppe Sala and a double delegation of the clubs directly involved, with the president of Inter Beppe Marotta, the managing director of Oaktree Katherine Ralph and the president of Milan Paolo Scaroni present. And, again for the first time, at the end of the meeting which began today around 5pm at Palazzo Marino in Milan, the two architects involved spoke openly about the stadium project: “We are grateful to the mayor for the welcome and the time dedicated to us. While waiting for the process to be finalized, it was an opportunity to share the spirit and ambition that inspire the project: we are in fact grateful to Oaktree and RedBird for having entrusted Foster + Partners and The opportunity to design the new stadium for Inter and Milan is missing and we are honored by it.” The meeting, which lasted about an hour and a half, therefore left good feelings for all parties involved: “This project represents not only a significant investment for the future of sport – conclude Foster and Manica with a double signature – but also a commitment towards the city of Milan and its rich cultural, architectural and sporting heritage”.
