Travelers, residents and office people can get coffee again, have breakfast and have lunch next to the Zoetermeer train station. After the closure of lunchroom at Foodie on the Boerhaavelaan, Jamal Al Bouabidi took over. The colorful interior has remained almost the same, but the menu is completely different.

At breakfast and lunch restaurant Picobello you can enjoy a breakfast or lunch under 10 euros. Among other things, they have Mediterranean dishes, but there is also a typically Dutch bouncer or carpaccio sandwich on the map. Owner Jamal already has a Picobello location in Utrecht.

Coziness in the neighborhood

Jamal and his friendly employee Shariff El Khabbabi are all too proud of their new catering business in Zoetermeer. “We looked out our eyes during the viewing,” says Jamal. “What a beautiful building, nicely furnished and a place with a lot of potential. In a few years, there will be a completely new residential area here.”

Jamal took over the interior of Bij Foodie and opted for a ‘silent’ opening on March 24. “Soon office people, local residents and other Zoetermeerders were able to find us. They are happy with a cozy catering business in the area, where you can eat some goodies or catch up with coffee and cake.”

Good start to the day

At Picobello you can choose from three types of breakfasts in the morning. For enthusiasts there is a standard breakfast with a croissant, an egg and bread with spreads. Sweet tooth go for the American breakfast with pancakesfresh fruit, scrambled eggs and bread. Do you want something else? Then choose the North African breakfast with mesmen (a kind of crepes made of semolina), olives, honey, fried egg and bread.

Leave your bammetje at home

Office people in the vicinity of the Boerhaavelaan can leave their lunch box at home. At Picobello you get or order sandwiches, burgers, pancakesmeal salads, pinsa (type of pizza). saté and Loaded Fries. “It is rush hour here between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm,” says Jamal. Do you want coffee for the train or do you pick up someone from the station? Here you get one coffee to go With possibly something tasty.

Where is that party?

Zoetermeerders who have something to celebrate can also receive their guests in Picobello’s living room. “Some people prefer to look for a location outside the center. Recently there was a neighborhood of women who wanted to catch up in peace, drink and eat something. They had a nice afternoon together.”
