The ‘displaced’ exhibition, which runs from 4 October 2025 to 14 June 2026, tells these stories via documents, photos and personal objects. Nine contemporary illustrators bring testimonies to life with drawings, while an audio guide immerses visitors in the personal history of the refugees.
“It’s about stories from ordinary people in exceptional circumstances,” say the compilers of the exhibition. “By showing their experiences, we not only want to make the past tangible, but also better understand current migration stories.”
In addition to the Expo in De Lakenhallen, visitors in the city center can also follow the tracks of the refugees via a course.
