New details on Manuel Neuer’s comeback plan leaked

Manuel Neuer’s comeback at Bayern Munich after breaking his lower leg is apparently getting closer.

According to a report by the TV channel “Sky”, the captain of the German record champions will be back on the training ground in two or three weeks. Then the first goalkeeper-specific exercises and relaxed running training are on the program.

In July, Neuer should be fully involved in FC Bayern’s team training again. Coach Thomas Tuchel is planning to return the 37-year-old for the coming season.

Neuer will then probably push the current number one Yann Sommer out of the gate again.

FC Bayern had iced the 34-year-old Swiss from Borussia Mönchengladbach in January for eight million euros. Sommer was supposed to make up for Neuer’s failure, but the bottom line was that he made too many wobbles and one or the other clear mistake. A departure in the summer should not be ruled out.

The Swiss national goalkeeper should work professionally with Neuer, who has been working for his comeback every day for a long time on Säbener Straße, reports “Sky”. According to this, Neuer’s relationship with the new goalkeeper coach Michaelrechner is “very good”.

FC Bayern: Manuel Neuer sees victory against Hertha BSC in the stadium

The 42-year-old had succeeded Toni Tapalovic, a long-time confidant and good friend of the 2014 world champion goalkeeper, at FC Bayern shortly after Neuer’s accident on a private ski tour.

The “kicker” recently reported that Neuer is making rapid progress on the way to his old fitness. Accordingly, his recovery is “more than according to plan”.

In line with the good news, Neuer showed up again on Sunday in Munich’s Allianz Arena.

He followed FC Bayern’s 2-0 win over Hertha BSC alongside his girlfriend Anika Bissel in the lower tier.
