Fewer new houses were built in the Netherlands last year than in 2022. According to CBS More than 73,000 new-build homes were completed, compared to almost 75,000 a year earlier. The total housing stock grew by 0.9 percent.
The housing stock is all residential objects with a residential function according to the Basic Register of Addresses and Buildings (BAG) that are ‘in use’.
New-build homes in Zoetermeer
In Zoetermeer, 621 homes were added last year, according to figures from Statistics Netherlands. That is a growth of 1.1 percent. For example, the most new-build homes were added in the Oosterheem and Palenstein districts.
Fewer new-build homes
According to Statistics Netherlands, fewer homes were built in the Netherlands last year due to the number of building permits granted. The most new homes were completed in the province of South Holland last year: 17,300. The most growth in our area can be found in Delft, Zoeterwoude and Leiden. Only in IJsselstein, Utrecht, not a single new-build home will be completed in 2023.
