The clubs will share more money with the new format of the Champions League
Prizes for participation and results increase
The Champions League will debut a new format starting with the 2024-2025 season. A new format with more teams – going from 32 to 36 – which will also result in an increase in income for participating clubs. ‘Calcio e Finanza’ has announced that UEFA will increase the current distribution by around 500 million.
The clubs will share around 2,500 million in the new Champions Leaguefor the 2,000 that the top European competition currently distributes among the clubs that reach the group stage.
The highest European body will receive 4,400 million, of which 3,300 will impact the clubs. The 36 clubs that reach the group stage will share those 2.5 billion. The big news regarding this season’s edition is that the distribution increases in terms of participation and results.

Until now, The bonus for participating was 500.5 million and from the 2024-2025 season it will be 678.5. That is, it goes from 25 percent to 27.5 percent. Prizes for results – ties, victories and classifications – go from 600.6 to 925.3which means an increase from 30 to 37.5 percent.
On the other hand, the distribution by market pool and coefficient drops from 45% to 35%. Transferred to concrete figures, it means a decrease from 900.9 to 863.6 percent. In other words, the sporting career of each specific season is rewarded.
With the prizes for results still to be decided, what is already known is that Each club will receive three million more for reaching the group stage. From 15 million it will go up to 18 million per club for what is known as the participation bonus.
