New BVB Retro Kits for FUT Unveiled

Some Borussia Dortmund professionals recently presented themselves in a retro look on social media. This is behind the action of the BVB stars.

Mats Hummels and Co. are likely to have caused flashbacks among some Borussia Dortmund supporters at the end of the week. The central defender of BVB presented himself casually with a long mane and a jersey with the inscription “BVB 09” on the social accounts of the table second in the Bundesliga.

Marcel Schmelzer, Felix Passlack and Julian Brandt were also inspired by the look of the wild seventies and appeared fundamentally different with a full beard, mustache and eye-catching sunglasses.

But why all this? Behind the disguises of the BVB stars is a campaign by the video game manufacturer Electronic Arts. In the “FIFA 22” series, there are now a total of twelve different jerseys from the past to choose from in the Ultimate Team and Volta Football modes.

BVB will also be there, contributing a retro jersey from 1975/1976. All kits have special club events as their origin. In the case of Dortmunder Borussia, it is about promotion to the Bundesliga in the summer of 1976.

In addition to BVB, there are also the following traditional jerseys: Portugal 1921, Universidad Católica 1960, Tottenham Hotspur 1961, Benfica SL 1961, Manchester City 1969, Liverpool FC 1982, Paris Saint-Germain 1989, AC Milan 1996, Leeds United 1992, Real Madrid 2007 and Inter Milan Centenario Retro 2008.

All jerseys can be seen on the official FIFA 22 website. There you can also see that the goalkeeper jersey is blue and has no lettering, as was the case back then.

BVB fans have to spend 25,000 coins for the retro kit. The traditional shirts can be purchased until the end of April.
