NBA’s Shawn Kemp arrested after shooting in Seattle

Former Seattle Sonics forward, 6-time All Star, accused of opening fire in front of Tacoma mall

Shawn Kemp, a former Seattle star and 6-time NBA All Star, was arrested Wednesday night in Pierce County after being involved in a shooting in Tacoma, south of Seattle. Kemp was stopped just before 6pm. A few hours earlier, an altercation between the occupants of two cars resulted in gunfire in a parking lot near the Tacoma Mall. A car has escaped. Police recovered a handgun and arrested Kemp, now formally under indictment. No injuries were reported, but the investigation continues.
