Basketball star Nikola Jokic will be missing from the Denver Nuggets for weeks – but the worst fears have not been confirmed after the Serb’s injury.

The three-time MVP of the North American professional league NBA “only” suffered a hyperextension of his left knee in the game against the Miami Heat (123:147). As the franchise announced on Tuesday, Jokic will be examined again in four weeks.

The star player collided with teammate Spencer Jones, who stepped on his foot while running back. Jokic went to the ground, immediately held his left knee and never returned to the field.

Before the injury, Jokic, currently the best player in the world for many experts, had scored 21 points. The 30-year-old would miss around 16 games if he was out for four weeks. He could return before the All-Star Game in February. The Nuggets are third in the West and are clearly on course for the playoffs.
