The new competition, created to give a bit of appeal in the most “tired” period of the regular season, needs some corrections to definitively establish itself

The Los Angeles Lakers of LeBron James and Anthony Davis and the Milwaukee Bucks of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. The roll of honor of the newly created NBA cup is sparse, but illustrious. Winners in name, perhaps not from the strongest teams in the competition, but from those with brilliant stars, capable of taking advantage of the carpe diem formula and making the difference in a short competition, in particular at the Final Four in Las Vegas. How has the new NBA tournament, designed to withstand the competition of the “big brother” of American sports, NFL football, in sluggish times, due to recent and annoying habit of the regular season, worked so far? What improvements can be made to motivate the players, give substantial as well as economic weight to this tournament, to build a tradition “felt” by athletes and fans? Work in progress: something has been done, more remains to be done.
