National team: Report on “EM-Zoff” between Nagelsmann and BVB

On Thursday, Julian Nagelsmann will announce his squad for the national soccer team’s upcoming test matches against France and the Netherlands. The nominations are apparently causing a lot of trouble at Borussia Dortmund.

“Sport Bild” speculates that striker Niclas Füllkrug is the only BVB player that Nagelsmann is considering. Accordingly, Mats Hummels, Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck and Julian Brandt are at risk of being eliminated shortly before EURO 2024.

Nagelsmann has already informed some of the stars who were sorted out, it goes on to say. However, who exactly this is was not revealed.

According to the report, a “European Championship dispute” between BVB and national coach Nagelsmann is inevitable. In the past, those responsible at Dortmund had reacted angrily when only a few of their German players were called up for the DFB squad.

Relationship between Nagelsmann and BVB strained?

In addition, not taking the players into account could put a strain on the relationship between Nagelsmann and BVB, according to “Sport Bild”.

On Monday, “Sky” reported that the trainer was “definitely an issue” at Borussia Dortmund.

The future of coach Edin Terzic beyond the summer is open with the black and yellow.

According to the report, BVB managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke is a big Nagelsmann fan and has tried twice in the past to lure the trainer to Dortmund. However, there has currently been no direct contact between Nagelsmann and the Revierklub.

Some of Nagelsmann’s squad surprises have already been leaked. The 36-year-old will probably do without Leon Goretzka from FC Bayern and instead call his teammate Alexandar Pavlovic into the team for the first time.

A quartet from VfB Stuttgart can also prove themselves shortly before the European Championships. According to “kicker”, left-back Robin Gosens (1. FC Union Berlin) and goalkeeper Kevin Trapp (Eintracht Frankfurt) will be missing from the DFB squad.
