For the DFB women, Wolfsburg will be against Scotland again within a few days. The national coach will make personnel changes.
National coach Christian Wück also goes into the second Nation’s League game against Scotland with defense concerns. Before the duel on Tuesday (from 5.45 p.m. in the T-Online Liveticker) in Wolfsburg, it is clear: Sara Doorsoun will be due to muscular problems. The defender of Eintracht Frankfurt was unable to deny the final training.
The two defensive forces Kathrin Hendrich and Rebekka Knaak are still missing due to injury-as with the 4-0 success in the first leg against Scotland in Dundee. The frequent personnel changes in defense are noticeable. “I think we didn’t even play with the same chain of four. We are not happy with this situation,” said Wück, referring to his seven international matches so far as national coach.
Last Friday, Sophia Kleinhernen and Janina Minge formed the duo in central defense. Despite the challenge on the defensive, the 51-year-old uses the games to try out various options for the European Championship in Switzerland in July. Kleinherne received a special praise after her commitment: The Frankfurt native moved back into the starting eleven for the first time after two years – and “proved that we were paid the trust of her 100 percent,” said Wück: “Mast respect for it.”
On Tuesday there will now be three personnel changes compared to last Friday, but Wück did not give any concrete names. “These changes that we make, they already have the ulterior motive: what would be at the European Championship?” Said Wück.
Laura also brings up a possible option for the central offensive position. The offensive player of Eintracht Frankfurt came to the final press conference with the national coach. However, Wück made it clear: “For me it does not mean that the players sitting next to me will start tomorrow.”
Free access itself spoke of a promising starting point before the second leg in Lower Saxony. Even if the clear victory in Scotland had managed, some weaknesses showed up. “Now we have the perfect starting position to take the things we learned with us,” she said.
