National coach Ronald Koeman selects three debutants for the Orange, Jordy Clasie drops out

National coach Ronald Koeman has announced the final selection of the Dutch national team for the European Championship qualifying matches with France and Gibraltar. The 59-year-old Zaandammer lets three players make their debuts and ignores Jordy Clasie from AZ.

The 25-strong selection has three newcomers with Bart Verbruggen, Mats Wieffer and Lutsharel Geertruida. They have never been part of the Dutch national team. Georginio Wijnaldum also returns to the Dutch national team. He was not part of the World Cup selection under the previous national coach Louis van Gaal.

Classic

Koeman recently presented a pre-selection of 37 players. There was room for Jordy Clasie. However, the captain of AZ is not part of the final selection of the Dutch national team. With Steven Berghuis, Steven Bergwijn, Brian Brobbey, Davy Klaassen, Kenneth Taylor and Jurriën Timber, Koeman selects no less than six Ajax players.
