National coach àlex Mumbrú will return to the bank at the European Championship round of the German basketball players. After his illness, the Spaniard should be there again in Riga against Portugal on Saturday (from 2:15 p.m. in the T-Online Live Ticker). It is open whether he will immediately look after the reigning world champion as the main chief coach on the sidelines.
Already on Friday Mumbrú managed the team’s training session again. This was shared by assistant coach Alan Ibrahimagic, who had looked after the team while Mumbrú’s absence. “The training went quite well today. And I assume that he will lead the game too. Then I sit down. And if not, I get up,” said Ibrahimagic about Mumbrú.
The national coach was taken to the hospital shortly after arriving in Tampere on August 25 and stayed there for six days. The 46-year-old plagued an acute abdomen that forced him the entire group phase into the audience role.
