The 25-year-old Desmet wore the club’s shirt earlier between 2017 and 2022. That then earned him two national titles, four cups and two super cups. In 2021 he was named Rookie of the Year and by the supporters as the best player.
After his departure at Roeselare, Desmet played for the Italian Pallavolo Padavo (2022-2024) and the Polish Cuprum Stilon Gorzów Wielkopolski (2024-2025). “With his experience at the highest level, Mathijs Desmet now returns to Knack Volley, where he will play a key role in the team of the new coach Matthijs Verhanneman,” says Roeselare.
The right -handed corner attacker of 1.98 meters will wear the back number 10 at Roeselare.
