Nasti and Brescianini, the green gold of Cosenza. A B that passes… also from Milan

Both on loan from Milan, they are enjoying a leading season in Serie B. And for their future…

If Cosenza were to succeed in the salvation enterprise, a couple of thanks would go to the Rossoneri world. In the last two months, the Calabrians have won four games, all 1-0. With two goals each for Brescianini and Nasti, both on loan from Milan. In the first leg of the B playout against Brescia, the midfielder dominated in the middle of the field. Instead, the striker decided the game with what could be the most important goal of the season.

Nasti, heavy goals

Context. Marco Nasti unlocked the first round of the playouts against Brescia, giving him one more hope (and a result) in view of the second leg. A flash of robbery that some Rossoneri fans will have remembered Pippo Inzaghi for movements and exultation. Twenty years on 17 September, he arrived in Cosenza in the summer after a good stint in the AC Milan youth team and some first-team training, often spent stealing Giroud’s work with his eyes. So the choice of a change to find more space among the adults and gain experience. In Calabria he was one of the last to arrive in the retreat and his inclusion in the team was complicated by some initial physical problems. Then, the exploit: during the season he collected 26 appearances and scored 5 goals. Almost all of them vital, like the one-two scored against Reggina at the end of February: the sliding door of the season, with two goals scored in full stoppage time to overturn a movie game and grab three golden points for the comeback. The Rossoneri thread? Heavy goals, just like the Giroud example. With the acute last April 1st against Pisa, Nasti had also scratched the last championship victory of Viali’s team. Those who observe him closely tell of a boy with a personality, always ready to put his face in difficult moments despite his age. Enough to give up the Under 20 World Cup for the salvation mission.

Brescianini, order and physicality

The other man of the match on the evening at San Vito-Marulla was Marco Brescianini, also on loan from the Diavolo. Born in 2000, the midfielder went through the Milan youth sector before being loaned to Entella, Monza and therefore Cosenza. The rossoblù season often clung to his plays: in mid-March, with the winning goal against Spal, he pulled his team out of the quicksand of the last place in the standings, bringing them closer to the play-offs in a more concrete way. A few days later, the masterpiece goal against leaders Frosinone launched the sprint towards the end of the season. So far he has played all matches (38) except one, in April against Cittadella (missed due to suspension). Almost always on the field as a starter, he gave the Calabrian midfielder a plus in technique and physicality. After a slight decline in the final rush of the regular season, a full 7 performance came at the crucial moment.

Perspectives

For both, the goal is to return to Milan and the last few months have opened to reflections. If Brescianini is linked to the Devil by a contract expiring in 2024 and at the moment the roads for him suggest a new separation, the speech for Nasti is a bit different. The player (linked to the Rossoneri until 2026) could return to the base and end up on loan again (perhaps still in Cosenza, in case of salvation), with some small chance of playing a season in the shadow of more expert strikers and to be studied . After all, the baby forward had been clear about his path in the recent interview with the Gazzetta: “Cosenza? For me it means above all to grow up, to become a man. And it’s also a stimulus to show Milan how much I’m worth. I feel ready. It’s not to throw it at me, but I have it shitty what is needed”. To end the season in Calabria in the best possible way, another good dose will be needed.
