1. FC Nuremberg got their first win at Fortuna Düsseldorf under new coach Markus Weinzierl and gained some breathing room in the relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga.

The “Club” fought a 1-0 (0-0) win at Fortuna Dusseldorf on the 12th day of the match in the Rhenish continuous rain. The goal of the day was scored by striker Kwadwo Duah (47th minute).

Nuremberg left the 16th place in the table, Fortuna tried again in vain to catch up with the promotion ranks.

Hosts without an orderly build-up game

Nuremberg defended consistently in front of 25,750 spectators and took on duels with all their might, so the hosts had problems playing an orderly game. Felix Klaus (41st) missed the first really good chance for Fortuna.

Shortly after the break, Kwadwo Duah (47th) benefited from a defensive error from Düsseldorf when he scored the opening goal. In the 47th minute, the Swiss threw himself into a cross from midfielder Jens Castrop in the penalty area, which he volleyed with his right foot.

The supposed promotion candidate then tried to finally build up pressure – but the degrees remained harmless to pathetic for a long time.
