The finding of the bodies occurred in a house in Villa Vatteone, in Florencio Varela, this Wednesday. The remains of the three young people were found buried at the bottom of the garden. In the scene they found blood stains, strong smell of lavandina and traces that indicated that someone was cleaning the house. The adulterated truck was found on fire about a hundred meters from the place.
The identification of the bodies was done by particular signs, tattoos and clothing. The bodies show signs of extreme violence: blows, cuts, head wounds, asphyxiation marks, partial burns in one of the bodies, cuts in abdomen, in hands and fingers. According to preliminary expert opinions, deaths date from approximately four days before the finding. At least four people were arrested in the first raids, a couple who owns the house where the crime was committed, and two other people – a man and a woman – who were cleaning the place. In the review different elements were seized that could serve as evidence.
So far in the file the UFI of Homicide of La Matanza intervenes, although no jurisdictional transfer is ruled out. The Narcocriminality Attorney’s Office (procunction) also intervenes given the possible link with drug trafficking. Initial imputations include aggravated homicide, alevosía, cruelty, homicide committed by gender violence, and in some cases aggravated cover -up. The detainees refused to declare.
Researchers believe it was a premeditated and professional crime of an Argentine-Peruan criminal clan led by a leader called “Little J”. The main hypothesis is that the young women were deceived with the promise of attending an event, with the intention of attracting them to the place where they would finally be killed. It is suspected that the reason is linked to disputes within drug trafficking. One of the hypotheses indicates that young women (or at least one of them) could have been involved, voluntarily or involuntarily, in the theft of drugs or money from a band member, which would have triggered retaliation.
Crime could also have a symbolic component, such as generating a warning towards others within the organization or to those who threaten their rules. Buenos Aires Minister of Security spoke of a “disciplinary” strategy. Regardless of what linked to drug trafficking, the fact is being investigated as femicide, since the victims are women, violence with cruelty was used, and patterns of domination, torture and humiliation are seen.
