The A national teams for cross-country skiing, ski jumping and combined have been named for the 2026–2027 season.

On Monday, the Ski Federation published the national teams for next season.

According to the association, the selections emphasize “potential for development and success as well as a strong and unified path towards the 2029 World Cup home games”.

The new head coach of skiing Joakim Abrahamsson emphasizes raising the level of requirements at all levels.

– We have a clear ambition to constantly raise our standards – not only in terms of results, but also in the way we work, manage and develop our operating environment. It is crucial to be able to combine immediate results with long-term development work. We want to be competitive in this moment and at the same time build a strong foundation for future success, Abrahamsson’s line.

The short-term goals are next season’s World Cup, Tour de Ski and the World Cup competitions in Falun, while the longer-term goals include Lahti at the World Cup home games in 2029 and the 2030 Olympics.

In hill jumping, the A national team will be larger than before in the coming season. There has been particularly strong growth on the women’s side.

The strong body of the combined A national team continues. The national team next season includes, among other things Ilkka Herola, Eero Hirvonen, Minja Korhonen and Heta Hirvonen.
