Nahir Galarza and his sixth birthday behind bars

Nahir Mariana Galarzasentenced to a sentence of life imprisonment as the sole person responsible for the crime of Fernando Pastorizzoperpetrated on December 29, 2017 in the city of Gualeguaychu, he turned 25 years old and his sixth birthday in prison, in Penal Unit No. 6 of Paraná (Entre Ríos).

Yamina Kroh and Aaron Galarza, Nahir’s mother and brother respectively, accompanied the inmate’s celebration as in the previous five birthdays. The one who will once again be prevented from approaching will be her father, Marcelo Galarza, whom her daughter “accused of having killed Pastorizzo” and of hatching a plan to make her pay for the murder.

The defense represented by lawyers José Ostolaza and Pablo Sotelomaintains that Nahir was judged with “discrimination, lack of Gender Perspective and failure to comply with all international conventions signed by Argentina on Gender Violence and Protection of Women.

While waiting for the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, which has already studied the file and must issue a ruling on whether to confirm or revoke the ruling, his story is still current in the media, with a series of audiovisual projects: two books were written, “The Silence of NahirChronicle of a Media Lynching” by Jorge Zonzini; and “Nahir, the Unknown History” by Mauro Szeta and Mauro Fulco; which inspired projects for television, platforms and cinema.

The Nahir Case“is the two-chapter documentary series that the production company Kapow (Carmel/Rati Horror Show) completed for Telefe and Paramount and, in turn, the production company Zeppelin Studios (Días de Gallos) completed the filming of the feature film”Nahir: Damn Night” for cinemas and the Amazon Prime platform, starring Valentina Zenere (Soy Luna) in the role of Nahir, Simón Hempe as Fernando, César Bordon, as Nahir’s father, Nacho Gadano, as Jorge Zonzini, and Mónica Antonópulos as his mother .

Finally, a series of twenty-two chapters would be in the pre-production process by Pampa Films (Monzón/Ringo) and the Mexican production company TFS (Maradona).
