Julian Nagelsmann might have made Mika Biereth possible in the DFB team. This was confirmed by the national coach when he was addressed to the offensive player by AS Monaco when he was nominated for the Nation’s League quarter-finals against Italy on March 20 and 23.
The 22-year-old, however, will not appear for Germany in the future, but will continue to play internationally for Denmark. “I spoke to him,” said Nagelsmann. “It was about checking whether there is a possibility that he will play with us. We checked that well, unfortunately it doesn’t work, ”said the national coach.
On the one hand, Biereth has two citizenships, the English and the Danish, said Nagelsmann. And in his last effort for Denmark U21 he was over 21 years old. “So he is blocked for other associations. It is no longer possible for us to create the legal requirements that he can play for Germany. ”
Biereth could also have played England for his country of birth. In addition to the Danish, his father also has German origin. The attacker would have been “not yet nominated for the upcoming caps against Italy,” Nagelsmann noted on Thursday. “But we thought about him because he has a very good quota.”
