Nadine Visser has not been able to grab a medal in the 60 meter hurdles at the indoor World Cup in Nanjing, Chinese. The athlete from Hoogkarspel had to settle for sixth place after an exciting final. Although the difference with the gold medal winner Devynne Charlton was at least (7.76 at 7.72).

Two weeks ago, Visser achieved silver at the European Indoor European Championship in Apeldoorn behind the Swiss Ditaji Kambundji. She won the silver behind Charlton on Sunday, the bronze was for the Jamaican Ackera Nugent.

The 30-year-old fisherman already won bronze in the 60 meter hurdles at the World Indoor World Cup in 2018. That was her last final at the Indoor World Cup for Sunday’s. She was more successful at the European Indoor European Championship with two gold and two silver medals.

On Saturday there was no North Holland success either. Menno Vloon then just grabbed a medal. The 30-year-old Zaankanter finished fourth in a field of twelve athletes and he reached a height of 5.80 meters.

Vloon would have wanted to stunt just like that he was allowed to share the gold at the European Indoor European Championship with Emmanouil Karalis. That was his first medal for the Noord-Hollander at an international championship. The gold was for world record holder Armand Duplantis, while this time Karalis grabbed silver.

Little Dutch input

Only six Dutch athletes traveled to Nanjing for the World Indoor Athletics World Cup. The tournament followed so shortly after the European Indoor European Championships that many athletes for that reason cut off a tiring trip to the Chinese M and City. Among other things, two -time European indoor champion Lieke Klaver from Enkhuizen (400 meters and 4×400 meters of relay) let it go.

The Volendam Jessica Schilder gave the small Dutch crew the only medal by winning the silver on Friday at the shot put.
