Nadia Moussaid disappoints viewers and critics: ‘This is a blunder’

Nadia Moussaid called out in every interview that she can finally go to the depths in her talk show without Dutch celebrities. According to critics, it does not want to succeed in terms of content, but it does succeed in terms of viewing figures.

The first episode of Nadia Moussaid’s new talk show, on the once famous seven-hour slot of NPO 1, only attracted 574 thousand viewers last night (17 percent market share). Sandwiched between EenVandaag (830,000) and the Achuurjournaal (1.7 million), it failed to win a spot in the daily viewing figure top 25.

No chance

Not surprising, thinks Angela de Jong. She completely destroys Nadia’s talk show today in her column. “What a hopeless program. How is it possible that this has passed the quality control of the public broadcaster. Although of course it fits effortlessly into the row of mistakes à la Showcolade and Ruud&Olcay.”

She continues: “And: how bizarre is it that the VPRO, the broadcaster of Arjen Lubach and of elaborate journalistic productions, is putting its reputation at risk with this superficial chatter.”

Anything but exciting

Het Parool’s TV critic, ‘Han Lips’ (fictitious name), is also not enthusiastic. “It was announced for an hour, but luckily Moussaid put an end to it after 45 minutes. Lips was left numb, paralyzed by so much lack of creativity.” it sounds. “Nadia is Around Ten, but every day and at seven. And a little more musty.”

What NRC finds? According to reviewer Rinskje Koelewijn, all those people in Nadia’s talk show are not at all as ‘ordinary’ as the presenter makes it seem. “No celebrities, but real people is the plan. But those real people did look familiar,” said the columnist, who figured out in which media all those people have appeared before.

What does Tina say?

What does viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp say about it? She writes on her channel: “A moderate to somewhat reasonable start for Nadia. 574 thousand viewers. Slightly less than Khalid and Sophie last Monday (621 thousand) and only 8.9 percent in the commercial target group aged 20 to 54. That is the lowest of the entire evening for NPO 1.”

Nadia is also the number four talk show host. “But that was Khalid & Sophie regularly now that it is longer light, and not the number two, which it often was in winter. So it can still go either way with Nadia. Promising start? No. Numbers to despair? Certainly not.”
