Nadal beats Medvedev again and remains unbeaten in 2022

Rafael Nadal has again won against Daniil Medvedev at the ATP tournament of Acapulco in Mexico. It was 6-3 6-3 for the 21-time Grand Slam champion. The 35-year-old Spaniard, the global number 5, will therefore remain unbeaten after two months in 2022.

Nadal defeated Medvedev, from Monday the new number 1 in the world, a month ago in a blistering final of the Australian Open. In Melbourne he cleared a 2-0 deficit in sets.

In the final, Nadal will face Britain’s Cameron Norrie, who was 6-4 6-4 too strong for Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Nadal has won 14 games in a row this season. He started the season by winning a pre-season tournament for the Australian Open and then also won the grand slam tournament itself. He hadn’t played since the final and is making his comeback in Acapulco.
