NADA brings Karim Jallow case to CAS

The National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) is appealing to the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in the case of basketball player Karim Jallow. NADA announced this on Tuesday.

In December, the German Sports Arbitration Court (DIS) dismissed NADA’s arbitration claim against the former national player, who is under contract with German champions ratiopharm Ulm.

The NADA had previously registered Jallow’s three failures to report and control within twelve months, and the 26-year-old was threatened with a ban of up to two years.

“The NADA received the written reasons for the decision at the beginning of January and examined it comprehensively, taking into account the applicable national and international anti-doping regulations,” said the Bonn-based organization: “NADA does not follow the court’s statements and is therefore now reviewing the case Have it checked and reassessed by CAS.”

Jallow belonged to the RTP (Registered Test Pool) category and therefore had to specify quarterly in advance where he could be found for one hour per day for a test. Jallow has now deregistered from this pool, meaning that his start for world champions Germany at the 2024 Olympics in Paris is currently ruled out.
