Musician Esa Kotilainen has died

Esa Kotilainen is remembered for his career as a significant musician as well as a music maker.

Musician and composer from Kouvola Esa Kotilainen has died at the age of 77. He was the first to report the death Kouvola Sanomatto whom the musician’s close circle confirmed the sad news.

According to the newspaper’s information, Kotilainen died on Monday, November 6 from a rapidly progressing illness.

Kotilainen became famous after playing in the 1970s in big progressive rock bands Wigwam and Republic President. He returned to bands in the form of comeback gigs in the 1990s and 2000s.

The well-known keyboard player also produced songs for other well-known artists. Among other things, he played Remu Aaltonen, J. Karjalainen, Neumann’s and Pelle Miljoona’s albums. He also performed at one Hector’s from farewell tours.

In addition to band life and music making, Kotilainen played in the Finnish National Opera and the Savonlinna Opera Festival.
