Just like all the most prestigious museums, including the Louvre in Paris, the Prado in Madrid, the museums in London, the Met and the Moma in New York. The mayor of Florence Dario Nardelladid not follow Schmidt, but he decided instead to keep the Palazzo Nuovo open.

The city of Rome has not even limited itself to opening during the Christmas holidays but has even launched an independent initiative: “Christmas in the Museums”. From 23 December to 8 January it will be possible to visit permanent collections and temporary exhibitions throughout the capital.
