Munich Fabric Start will start earlier next season. For the summer edition of the Munich textile fair, the organizer has brought the date forward by six weeks, Munich Fabric Start Exhibitions GmbH announced on Thursday. The new summer date will take place from July 21st to 23rd, 2026.
By bringing the event forward, the organizer is reacting to the development of fashion cycles and positioning the trade fair, which also includes the denim platform Bluezone, the innovation hub Keyhouse and The Source, as a clear start to the season. The aim is to take into account the different collection cycles in the textile and fashion industry and to offer the industry an early and reliable order platform.
“The dynamics in the market require flexible and forward-looking planning,” says Florian Klinder, Managing Director of Munich Fabric Start Exhibitions GmbH. “By bringing the summer date forward, we are responding directly to the feedback from our partners and ensuring that the sample collections can be presented at the optimal time to ensure efficient collection creation and ordering.”
In the following years, the date is expected to move forward even further. From 2027, a fixed date at the beginning of July is planned. The event is also flanked by the View fabric fair, which is tailored to the different market requirements with two dates – a late reVIEW and a very early preVIEW.
For Munich Fabric Start, this is the second time it has been brought forward in just a few years. Already in 2023, the summer editions of Munich Fabric Start, Bluezone, Keyhouse and The Source have been postponed from the second half of August to the second half of July.
