Just a few weeks ago, the Munich trade fair company Munich Fabric Start Exhibitions GmbH moved its Bluezone denim trade fair, originally planned for January, to May due to the Covid 19 pandemic. On Tuesday, the company canceled the event completely. This time, the decision was not based on the effects of the health crisis, but on changes in the trade fair calendar.

“The short-notice announcement of a further and thus third denim trade fair within 20 days within a radius of 1000 kilometers has caused great unrest and a lack of understanding in the industry and also in us,” explained Sebastian Klinder, Managing Director of Munich Fabric Start, in one Message. “Since we don’t want to get involved in a battle of trade fair dates, we have decided in the interest of the entire textile industry and our exhibitors to avoid the oversupply of trade fairs and to focus all our positive energy on our core date at the end of August.”

The next event of the Munich trade fair company is the View Premium Selection, which will take place on June 21st and 22nd in the MVG Museum in the Bavarian capital. This will be followed by the Munich Fabric Start (August 30th to September 1st) at the MOC Munich and, at the same time, on August 30th and 31st, the regular late summer edition of Bluezone in the Zenith area.
