Majority parties CD&V and Vooruit submitted a resolution in the Flemish Parliament on Monday in which the Flemish government is asked to take measures “with regard to Israel after the constant escalation in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories”. Striking: CD&V and Vooruit do so without a coalition partner N-VA. The Démarche can be seen as a way to put N-VA and Prime Minister Matthias Diependaele under pressure to take stricter measures against Israel.
