The energy crisis also hits hard for celebrities. For example, reality star Frank Jansen suffers enormously from gas prices, because he has three homes to heat. But what about Monique des Bouvrie, the wife of the late Jan des Bouvrie? She has a huge villa with a living area of 1,344 square meters.

Permanent contract

Will Monique soon be on the ground because she cannot pay Eneco’s bill? No, she still benefits from a fixed energy contract. “Fortunately, I have secured the amount for three years”, she sighs in the Weekend.

Monique’s villa in Naarden, which has been for sale for a while for 10 million euros, can therefore be heated quite cheaply in the coming winters. So the energy crisis will pass her by. “But of course it is terrible what is happening. The government would like to add some water to the wine, but still.”

Gap in the market

Monique thinks it’s sad for all people without a fixed energy contract. “It is terrible that people have to pay so much money in energy costs. We will all take that into account.”

However, she also sees a gap in the market. “If you start designing awesome thick sweaters and really nice thick socks, that’s a gap in the market. No, I don’t have time for it myself, I’m so busy. I fly from here to here. It’s mega busy.
But I love that.”

Take it easy

Isn’t she disappointed that her Naarden million villa has been around for so long for sale state? “The house has not yet been sold. No problem, I’ll take it easy on that. I don’t necessarily have to leave. I am busy with so many other fun things that I could use some rest.”
