RRome, 13 April. (askanews) – Mr. Nobody against Putin – The film against all wars has just won the Oscar for best documentary and will arrive in Italian cinemas from April 16th. One hundred screenings in more than 30 Italian cities, starting with the one at the Nuovo Sacher cinema by Nanni Moretti, in Rome, accompanied by Andrea Segre, Francesca Mannocchi, Marco Damilano and Andrea Fabozzi.
The documentary directed by David Borenstein and Pavel Talankin it is the testimony of a teacher during the war, a “secret” reportage to show how those in power would like to rewrite education.

Pavel Talankin, known to all as Pasha, is a much-loved school teacher in a small Russian town. When Russia invades Ukraine it changes the course of daily life for everyone and suddenly even schools are transformed: lessons are filled with patriotic rhetoric, militarized youth groups are born and education becomes a propaganda tool. Forced, as the institute’s videomaker, to document official activities, Pasha decides to use the video camera to tell what really happens around him.
Pavel films from the inside the progressive normalization of war, the weight of consensus and the growing involvement of younger people. What began as a private testimony turns into a silent and daily gesture of resistance, which will lead him to choose to leave his country to bring those images to the world.
