“No matter how many times I fell, I always got back up”

“I’ve suffered bruises and fractures, but I’ve always come out of it a better person. No matter how many times I fell, I always got back up. But I didn’t do it alone. I’m so grateful for the support from friends, family and you, my fans. Knowing that I have people who support me helped me in my darkest hours. Every day I tried to put one foot in front of the other until I finally got back there was where I wanted to be…which was usually the top of the mountain,” Vonn wrote along with the moving images. “We are all on our own journey, but when you are hurt or going through a hard time, believe in yourself and know that you will come out of it a better and stronger person. You can do it!”

The message was well received by her fans. Numerous people thanked her for her encouraging words. “You are so brave and strong,” could be read in the comment column, or “hero” and “inspiration.”
