A spider caused a major accident on the N264 near Oeffelt on Wednesday morning. A motorist was so shocked by the beast that hit his car off the road and he knocked over a tree and a hectometre post. The driver was injured on his hand, but did not have to go to the hospital.
Because the car oil leaked, the road must be cleaned. Because of that work, only one lane is available from Haps to Oeffelt. Exactly how long the cleansing lasts is still unknown.
Incidentally, it is not the first time that a motorist is shocked by a spider and clashes. At the beginning of June a woman was shocked so much of such a beast in her delivery van that she crashed on HeikantSestraat in Oosteind. She hit the road, bumped into a tree and ended up with the vehicle on the head in the ditch. The woman was released with a fright.
